Week 1

Self Offense Unit: Context & Boundaries Participants watch a video scenario and are introduced to the power of context and its relationship to personal protection and safety. Participants explore the nuances of boundaries.

Self Defense Unit: Identifying Targets & Weapons and Introduction of Wrist Grab/ Escape

Week 2

Self Offense Unit: The Interview & Triggers Introduction of the primary tool of Self Offense, “The Interview.” Participants learn to differentiate between types of verbal pushback and manipulation.

Self Defense Unit: Wrist Grab/Escape Review and Defending Attacks from the Front & Striking

Week 3

Self Offense Unit: The Planes of Space & What They Communicate Participants experience space as a “player” in both their verbal and non verbal communications. They learn how to communicate “looking alert” and increase their overall awareness skills.

Self Defense Unit: Defending Against Attacks from Behind Part 1

Week 4

Self Offense Unit: Eye Contact: Make It or Break It? Participants discover their natural preference for eye contact and what eye contact has the potential to communicate. They learn actions to take if they suspect they are being followed.

Self Defense Unit: Defending Against Attacks From Behind Part 2

Week 5

Self Offense Unit: Time & Pressure Participants experience time as a “player” in both our verbal and non verbal communications and how it is used to dominate.

Self Defense Unit: Exploration of the Use of Weight & Attacks from Above (When on the Ground)

Week 6

Self Offense Unit: Training Review & Personal Protection Plan Participants create ongoing personal protection practices in the areas of verbal & non verbal Self Offense. Wrap Up Q&A.
